March went home Monday with Report Cards!

Thank you to all who came for Pastries with Parents!  We had a great turn out!  I hope your child is enjoying reading their books and other papers in their reading folders.  Keep them until Friday!  Send them in Friday morning and we will shop for a new book!

READING:

We are reading the story Rain. 

Letters:  K and ending ck

Sight words:  she & was

Vocabulary: predict, temperature, drought, clever, storm.

Category words:  weather words

WRITING:  We started new journals.  I am encouraging more writing now.  I want the writers to use more describing words (adjectives) and maybe even more than once sentence to get their message out.

We will be looking at starting small moment writing.  We will look at our gingerbread day and write a class book, then the children will write their own small moment story.

SCIENCE:

We are continuing weather.

MATH: 

We will be practicing addition, graphing our pets, measuring ourselves with string, and investigating 3D shapes.

Keep on reading this week!  I’m seeing a number of children really excited about learning to read!~

Keep practicing letters and sight words!  It all pays off!!!
