When reading stories to your children focus on character, setting, and event (beginning, middle and end of the story).  We focus on these when we are discussing a book after we have read it for comprehension.
We are learning about our beanie baby, Repair Bear.  He reminds us to stop when we are reading to make sure we understand what we are reading.  If we don’t, then we need to go back and reread.

Math this week will be counting and assessing using the AIMS WEB to monitor where they are this time of the year.

Science/Social Studies we will talk about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his dream for the world to promote peace and equality.  The children will then write about their dream in their journal.  We have also been talking about winter and what animals do in the winter.

Student of the week is Case!

He enjoys mud bogs, cats, puppies and big trucks.  His favorite foods are chicken, pizza, pizza balls, mac & cheese, and banana boats.  Case wants to go to college to be a doctor.  His favorite book is How Much is that Doggie in the Window?
