Last week we
reviewed the letters and sight words we were working on before break!
This week we
worked on the following:
READING:
This week we are
learning about plants and what they need ro grow (water, sun, air, soil). We will be starting an Amaryllis plant. As we read we will be looking at character,
setting and events in the story.

WRITING:
We continue to
write in our journals every day! We are
getting good at starting our sentences with a capital letter, leaving spaces
between words and ending our sentences with an end mark! We also use the letters and sounds to sound
out words we don’t know and use sight words in our sentences!!!
We are also
continuing our work on pattern books.
MATH: We are reviewing
numbers, shapes and starting to look at 3D solid shapes (cube, sphere,
prism). We are reviewing writing numbers
and starting on writing teen number
SCIENCE & SOCIAL STUDIES: We
are wrapping up our talk of the character fairness. We will be reading stories of winter and
snowmen. Our science unit will be force
and motion. We will discuss gravity and
what makes things move with push or pull motion.
STUDENT OF THE WEEK:
MASON
Mason likes doing
math. He likes farming and has milked a
cow names Rosie! Mason likes Cheerios,
brats, chicken, hot dogs, cake and pancakes.
His favorite movie is Transformers.
His goals are to be a farmer and a good reader.
