DATES:

March 1:  Pastries with Parents, wear red, 730 Breakfast, 8:10 classroom until 8:40

9:00 Reading Month kick off

LIGHTS!  CAMERA!  READ!!

MARCH 8:Wear clothes with words on it

MARCH 15:  Dress like a movie star—wear sunglasses, hats, jewel’s, fancy clothes, etc.

MARCH 22:  PJ day, Popcorn, Half day—11:35 dismissal. Spring break!

Reading Month begins on Friday with an assembly at 9:00.  Kindergarten will be reading Nursery Rhymes. 

Children may bring in a SMALL flashlight to read with on special occasions.  Children will be earning tickets when caught reading.  There will be a drawing at the end of the reading month festivities.

Pastries with Parents:  Friday March 1.  Come have breakfast with your child.  Come back to the room and your child will read a book they have chosen for their take home reading folders. 

READING:  Our book this week will be focusing on the weather we have in each of the four seasons.

CATEGORY WORDS:  Seasons

SCIENCE & SOCIAL STUDIES:

We are learning about seasons and weather for each.  We will look at the effects the sun has on our earth. 

MATH:  We have learned the addition sign and are practicing addition problems.  We are working on writing numbers and skip counting by 5’s and 10’s.  We will now be working on counting by 1’s to 100.

Report cards go home March 4.
