SCHOOL--Teacher Professional Development
Our photographer has had some eye issues so retakes are
being rescheduled at a later date (possibly in 2 weeks).

Lindsey
Lindsey wants to be a hair stylist when she grows up. She likes to read Barbie books and play
babies with her sister! Her favorite
color is purple and likes to eat pizza.
Lindsey is 6 and wants to learn to read!

Progress reports went home last week. We have parent teacher conferences coming up
next week. Notes going home with this
note!
Remember Kindergarten report cards are different that the
other grades—ours go home November 21.
At conferences we will discuss progress so far and what the next steps
are. We will look at fall screening that
has been done so far. I look forward to
meeting with you!
READING:

We are reading Senses
at the Seashore
We are continuing focus on listening and comprehension
skills. We have a new Beanie baby
strategy—Stretchy Snake reminds us to stretch out the sounds to figure out a
word as we read.
WRITING:
Journal writing daily
Working on our small moment story—adding detail, spelling
out words.
MATH:
Practice counting. Writing and reading numbers 1-10. Students will learn about number stories and
how to solve simple stories.
SCIENCE/SOCIAL
STUDIES:
October is Fire safety and prevention month. We will read fire safety stories and watching
some videos. Practice a fire drill at
your home, have a meeting place outside.
We have practiced fire drills at school as well as tornado drills.
We will be finishing up our senses unit.
