Kindergarten will Have report cards in November, February and May.  If you ever have any questions please call or email me!

STUDENT OF THE MONTH:
We have our first Student of the month!  Anabelle Strezishar.  Anabelle is quiet at work time and always does her best work!  Anabel wants to be a fairy, she likes pink and purple.  Her favorite food to eat is cake.  She has a cat and a dog at home.  Awesome Job, Anabelle!!!

PLEASE remember shoes on Monday and Thursday! Children need sturdy gym shoes to be safe.

Please also send folders back to school emptied out every day!  The work the children do is important to them!  Take a look at it and read it with them!  It impresses to them that school is important to you and it’s a great review for your child!

READING:
They have 2 books now from our reading series.  Please read and re read these books!  It puts sight words in to context and means more to them!

We are working on the letters Nn-Ss this week.  We will be listening to rhymes.  The children will be introduced to the Beanie Baby Jabber the Reteller.  He reminds them to listen to the story to be able to recall and retell key details in a story.

WRITING:
We will be talking to a partner about things we know about and can do.  Once they’ve practiced talking to a partner about it they will draw it and write about it—remembering the key details!
We are continuing to draw and write in our journals daily.

MATH:
Our number hats from 6-9 are the focus this week.  We are working on shapes and making patterns and being able to extend a pattern.
Wednesday morning we will be taking our NWEA (Computer assessment) Math version.

SCIENCE AND SOCIAL STUDIES:
We are continuing to learn about what a scientist is.  We were able to explore the butterfly garden last week.
We continue to discuss school rules and how to feel good about school and doing the right thing!

Happy Fall (Saturday!)
  Melissa
