STUDENT OF THE WEEK: Mia
Mia loves
waterparks, horses and playing with her friends! She likes to eat pancakes, milk, bananas and
pizza. Her favorite movie is Moana. Her goals are to have a horse someday and to
milk a cow!
BABY PICTURES:
I still need more baby pictures!!!
In a few weeks we
will be doing a paper on past, present, future.
I will need a baby (preferable infant age) picture of your child. You can email it to me or send it in—if you
send it in I will copy and get it back to you as soon as I can. The children will be gluing this copy of
their picture to their paper and writing what they could do at that age. I have current pictures they will glue under
present and they will write about what they can do now! Then they will draw what they will look like
and will write about what they will do in the future. It’s a fun project!
****PLEASE send in
or email baby pictures! I’d like to do
it next week!
We are finished with the cap collection! Thank you for helping us
count on!!!

Our Story, What’s
the big idea, Molly? Is about how we work together to solve a problem. The children enjoyed predicting what was
going to happen and how they were going to solve the problem!

WRITING: We
write daily in our journals. Every day I
see more and more writing skills coming through!! The children are really trying to put the
letters and sounds together to make words and they are using a lot of their
sight words!!!
The book bags are
helping too! I have a number of students
that are wanting to read more! Keep it
up!!! The more they read the better it
gets!!! PLEASE encourage daily reading
at home! It’s paying off!!!
We are learning
about informational writing and will be writing our own information book.
SCIENCE & SOCIAL STUDIES: We
are working on life cycles. I will be
ordering Painted Lady Butterflies and we will watch the cycle!
CHARACTER TRAIT: responsibility
This is a trait
the children have really accomplished this year! This is a wonderful group of kids that like
to be at school! They take care of their
own things! They get themselves in line
for the bus and are respectful no matter where we walk to! I am SO proud of them!!! Good job!!!
MATH:
We are practicing
counting, counting on from a given number, counting by 5 & 10, and we will
work on addition and subtraction!
Our field trip to
the Kettunen center information will be coming out soon. I just wanted to give you heads up—it is May
22. We leave usually by 830 and return
by about 230. We are outside most of the
day and we are digging in the woods, swamp, etc.! It is a messy and fun day! I understand it’s not for everyone. I wanted you to know that it is a hands on
trip! The adults do help with all the activities! The cost for the trip and lunch for the kids
is $5. Adults will be free. Lunch is hotdogs, chips, drink, cookie,
fruit.
THANK YOU for all
you do!!!
I’m such a blessed
teacher!! You have AMAZING kids!!!!
