Well, I was hoping
we were finished with snow pants and boots, but Mother nature has different
plans! Please continue to send all
outdoor wear until further notice!
Please make sure
your child has an extra set of clothing in their locker. I will try and write a note if you need to
send one in!
Send in March
Book-it calendars. This is the last
month for it!
READING:
We will be reading
stories about day and nighttime skies. Our
big book this week is Bringing Down the Moon.
VOCABULARY: distance & recognize
CATEGORY
WORDS: opposites
SIGHT WORDS: this & that and review
We will be
reviewing u,g,w,x,v,j,qu & z. We are
finished with the alphabet now! This
week we will edit our handwriting books and our dictionary and they will be
coming home along with the ABC sound book they made at the beginning of the
year. Hang on to these books so the
children have them to review over the summer!
Good summer homework so skills aren’t lost over the summer break!
WRITING: We write in our journals every day! We will also begin writing opinion letters.
SCIENCE &
SOCIAL STUDIES: We are finishing up
weather and beginning our sun and how important it is to us and the earth. We are also working on our map books and
bringing them home when finished! The
children have learned how to look for the sun in the morning to determine the
east, mid-afternoon for the south and later afternoon closer to dinner time for
the west! They know the sun rises in the
east and sets in the west and we don’t have sun in the north sky!
