Thank you for everything you did to help make out Valentine party successful!  The children did a great job writing on their Valentines!!!

STUDENT OF THE WEEK:  RaeLynn.
RaeLynn likes to race, paint things and play with her toys.  She likes to eat spaghetti and chili.  Her favorite movie is Zootopia and her favorite book is Sofia the First.  Her goal is to be good and to learn to write better.

READING:
Letter:  Kk and ending -ck
Sight words:  she & was
Vocabulary:  predict, weather

WRITING:  continue working on small moments.  We will begin working on individual stories.

The children have been introduced to RAZ KIDS on their ipads.  They have a note for you to explain how to get it at home as well as their passwords.  Please do not let siblings of the kindergartener use the account.  I can monitor your kindergarteners progress and we want it to be a good fit for them!

MATH:
We are learning about measuring.  We measured each child and they compared their height to things in the classroom.  We also made a pet graph.

SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES:
Being Valentine's week we talked about friendships and respecting each other.  We read Valentine books and are beginning to talk about presidents.

Other info:
I have a young friend who is playing hockey in Cadillac (1st grader!)--she has free tickets to try playing hockey to see if it is something your child may enjoy!  or you can go to TryHockeyForFree.com to register!  It is Saturday February 25.

SNOWPANTS:
Please send children to school in snow gear ready to go outside for morning recess.  We have had some messing around in the hallway before school.  They get to their locker and hang up their backpack and scoot outside for a few minutes before school begins!
**Keep on reading over those sight words!

I’m seeing lots of children reading them!!!!
