DATES:

Book bags need to come in Friday for a new book to read!
If you are helping on the field trip you need a clearance
form filled out! Some have done this
already. I will be going through the
list and if you need one I will send it home on Friday! Appreciate all the volunteers we have coming
so far!!!!
I’ll need a baby picture of your child. They will be writing what they could do as a
baby, what they can do now (I use a picture I have from now) and then they will
draw what they will look like as an adult and what career path they will
choose! Please send in a baby picture or
email me a picture (melissa.thompson@mcbain.org).
If you send in a picture, I will get a copy and return it to you!
READING:
We
are reading Peter’s Chair. We are
talking about helping out at home and I’m using it as a help for how we can
help in the classroom, too.
PHONICS: Long a (with magic ‘e’) and /sh/
SIGHT
WORDS: help, too & him
CATEGORY
WORDS: household furniture
WRITING: We continue to write every day in our
journals. At the end of the year I will
be sending home their May/June journal and their August journal! You will see some amazing changes!!!
SCIENCE & SOCIAL
STUDIES:
We
are learning about plants and animals and how we all together change and/or
impact our world.
On
Monday we will be going to the creek by the parking lot to look in to the
environment there with Laura Quist. We
will be dipping to see what creatures we can find! Please have your child wear older clothes and
make sure there is an extra set in their backpack in case they get wet!
MATH:
We
will continue to work on addition, subtraction, reading numbers, 3D shapes (we
will use toothpicks and marshmallows to make 3D shapes!) and counting to 100 by 1’s, 10’s and 5’s.
Hope
you have a great weekend and this weather clears up! Although, I won’t grumble too hard—my niece
and her family live in Duluth Minnesota (where Anabelle moved to)—they got 8.3
inches of SNOW last night (5-8-19!). NO THANKS!!!! Looking for nicer weather!!!
Melissa
